LGO Exam 2013

Sr. Supdt. of POs, Palakkad memo no. B1/LGO Exam - 2013 dated 26.06.2013 is reproduced below

Sub: Conducting of Limited Departmental Competitive examination for Promotion of Lower Grade Officials ( LGO Exam 2013 ) to the cadre of  Postal  Assistants/Sorting Assistants to be held on 8-9-2013.

In accordance with the direction of Directorate  in letter No:- A-3401/7/2013- DE dtd 17-6-2013, it has been decided to fill up 50 % of vacancies  in the cadre of  PA/ SA  arising under Departmental quota  from 1-1-2013 to 31-12-2013, through  LGO Exam 2013.

Eligibility :-

1.   Postman /Mail Guard who has rendered 3 years of regular service in the cadre as on 1-1-2013.

2.   MTS  who has rendered 5 years of regular service in the cadre as on 1-1-2013

3.   The officials against whom the punishment is current or Disciplinary action is pending/contemplated are not eligible to apply.

Syllabus and Pattern of the examination:-

Paper I	General English/Hindi & Grammer, Arithmetic & Tabulation	One hour	50 Multiple choice questions	Qualifying marks:- 40% for Gen.category 33% for SC/ST
Paper II	For Postal Assistant Part A Knowledge of Postal/Mail Office operation with reference to PO Guide For  Sorting Assistant Part  B Postal Manual Volume  VII	One hour	50 Multiple choice questions	Qualifying marks:- 40% for Gen.category 33% for SC/ST

 Examination will be without the aid of books .

Number  of Chances:-

 The total number of chances prescribed for General category is 8 and for SC/ST is 10 and in case any SC/ ST candidate is appointed on the bais of his or her 9^th or 10^th chance , he or she shall be considered for appointment only against SC  or ST vacancy , as the case may be,  irrespective of his /her merit in the examination.

Venues for conducting examination:-

 Thiruvananthapuram,Kochi  and Kozhikode. However the candidates working on deputation in APS will take the examination from the nearest Civil Center to their places of posting/serving.

The willingness of the eligible officials may please be obtained in the prescribed format which is enclosed here with as Annexure.  The last date fixed for getting application  from eligible officials at Divisional Office  is 5-7-2013.
